PP&A, INC. ATTENDS AzHIMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Tucson, AZ - June 14, 2006 – Pearce, Patterson and Associates, Incorporated, an associate member of the California Health Information Association (CHIA), the Nevada Health Information Management Association (NvHIMA) and the Arizona Health Information Management Association (AzHIMA) attended the AzHIMA annual conference in Tucson, AZ. This year's annual meeting focused on changes in Information Management, the implications/ramifications of Personal Medical Records (PMR), and the potential impact of unified Electronic Medical Records. The three day conference was attended by more than 200 healthcare professionals from all over the state. Gary Patterson, President and CEO of PP&A, stated, "I'm excited to be here because this is a critical conference. In response to demands for a better health care system, the Federal Government has mandated that all medical facilities provide electronic health records by the year 2014. Because Arizona governer Janet Napolitano signed an executive order last year creating a cooperative initiative to acheive this goal by the end of next year, Arizona is leading the nation in the drive to unify health records. It's important that we understand the wide-ranging impacts to the health information professionals so that we can provide them the new services that will be required in the changing landscape of health information." Patterson goes on to state, "When the State of Arizona goes on to successfully meet Governor Napolitano's mandate merging health care with new high-tech applications sharing medical information amongst medical entities, they will become the model for all other states to follow. It's critical that PP&A is here to understand the future needs and model our services now to meet those needs."
